Last weekend I broke my personal record for images captured in a single day at Laurel’s reading and reception. My right index finger was sore (but my smile still strong) after about 2400 clicks. It was quite a day!
First some downtime and family portraits before the morning Shabbat services at Temple Or Haddash which meets at the Fort Collins Senior Center
Rabbi Ted kept the service (and Laurel’s reading) light and engaging
Temple Or Hadash’s Torah scroll is rumored to have been smuggled out of Eastern Europe during WWII
Sung (not spoken) in an ancient tune from a text with no vowels or punctuation marks. A challange even for the regular reader.
Perhaps Gummi Bears would be a better choice for the Shower Of Candy. Those Life Savers look … hard
Simone would cry practicing the Mother’s tribute she wrote for Laurel. At game time, she kept it together, but everyone else in the room broke up. I would’ve photographed the reactions, but I couldn’t see through the viewfinder.
So the payoff for all that ancient public vocalizing, intense emotional roller coaster, and pelting by hard candy is … a party. Prepare to enter Laurel’s Club Pucci (complete with bouncers)
