While New Belgium Brewery may be a crown jewel for Fort Collins, the wedding of Cheyne & Chad was a gem of a party in the exclusive upstairs lounge. Anyone who peered in the huge stainless vats in the center of the room saw organic beer ingredients churning, while awesome Americana sounds of a Denver band, The Reals, heated up the dance floor. Everything about the wedding was unique… Including my first attempt at creating a slide show of the mountain ceremony in time to play at the reception. I did this on my laptop while riding down the Big Thompson Canyon in the back of grandma’s car, brakes jabbing all the while. (I may not be so cavalier about offering that service next time!) And for a unique exit, the couple rode off into the night on two of Chad’s own cruiser bikes. Cheers to Chad, Cheyne and little Cormik! And thanks for turning me onto a band I didn’t know — as I say in my website, hearing new music rocks my world.

I had never seen this cool ring ceremony at the ceremony. A ribbon is passed among all in the circle, then the rings are slid through the ribbon, from hand and hand with silent blessings.

There’s brew churning in there – it was an interesting pair of weddings that weekend as the day before I was shooting at a functional nursery. Different is good.

The Reals … going places

Cruiser bikes are the signature of New Belgium’s presence in Fort Collins, so it’s fitting the exit would be on two wheels. There go Cheyne & Chad – off on life’s next chapter!
