jen + josh :: casper wedding

Like so many couples I photograph, Jennifer & Josh from Casper Wyoming met in high school – but didn’t date then. A chance encounter when Josh when both were home from college ignited the spark that burned to their wedding day in the hometown.

The October light was just perfect for an outdoor park ceremony. Josh had very cool ceremony set list picked out with Death Cab For Cutie, Arcade Fire, Talking Heads. I felt like my iPod had been hijacked, lol.

The couple patiently await their announcement into the reception at the Casper Elks Club. An ultra-wide lens takes it all in.

Shooting at hail mary speeds here – 1/2 second without a tripod is hit or miss, but the opportunity to show the mirror ball streaks to too strong to pass up.

Jennifer gets props for putting together all the decorations and flowers for her own wedding – even grew the plants that were used as table center pieces!

The Peneplain Jazz Project had everyone in the best reception mood.
0909sdb-549wide419wide076Congratulations (!) and a big thanks to Ruth at Fresh Flower Fantasy for being the reference wedding planner of all time. She had every detail perfect at both St. Matthews and Ivinson Mansion and was calm, cool and smiling around every turn. Susan’s Dad even wrote a reception song for her, “Wedding Planner Blues” – lol.

morgan + bobby :: cheyenne wedding

Morgan + Bobby brought their two families together at the Coal Creek Cattle Company about 35 miles North West of Cheyenne. The facility does almost no publicity and might be Wyoming’s best kept secret.

The whole day had many storybook moments, under the cottonwoods with perfect temperatures and a gentle breeze.

kattlyn + jamie :: laramie wedding

Kattlyn wanted a wedding to show off Wyoming to her new in-laws from Arizona. Something to remember. A special break from their 100+ degree days on the cotton farm. I think she found it at St. Alban’s Chapel in the Snowy Mountain Range.

0908kjr-010s50908kjr-2410908kjr-235Nice touch with the bagpiper at 10,000 feet. Funny, the instrument sounds the same, but I’m guessing playing it is a bit harder.

img_60710908kjr-025v2Kattlyn & Jamie work different sides of the same industry. Kattlyn prepares new agriculture teachers at the college level, while Jamie teaches farm equipment how to steer itself (with satellite help of course). Both are the future of American agriculture.
