It was a glorious Summer mountain day for Natalie & Eric’s big fun wedding at YMCA of The Rockies!

Go West, find adventure and love. That’s the shorthand story of Connie and Justin, two backcountry downhill skiers that left their roots and found a new high altitude life. Mutual adventure friends brought them together, and might’ve helped things along a bit as Justin’s stated response when he first met Connie was, “out of my league.”

A bit of irony – low maintenance bride with a high maintenance dress

Those of us who migrated from back East all get the same looks from family + friends. They can’t believe the outdoors people we’ve become. Who ever dreamed of a guest registry at REI or Sierra Trading Post? LOL. It’s the scenery … or the air.
Congratulations to you both, and thanks to Devil’s Thumb Ranch for awesome day in the sun.

Take a mountain drive with me now up over Berthoud Pass to Devil’s Thumb Ranch.

Melissa & David married on one of those storybook perfect Colorado mountain days complete with fast moving clouds, a quiet Dinner shower and colorful sunset.

Bride and Groom are very competitive, so the order of Wedding Vows was determined by a coin-toss during the ceremony. David won the toss, but yielded to Melissa and allowed her to be first.

Michelle of Dramatic Events got all the details just so

After a scrumptious sit down dinner, some involved and touching speeches followed …

The evening mountain air got everyone a bit giddy (or maybe it was the open bar). Congo line pit stop, anyone?
Congratulations to Melissa & David!
Now, pay attention to the couple at the end of the congo line – any similarity to the couple in the next blog entry is purely intentional.

Penny & Damon fell in love in New Orleans, but the call of the mountains pulled them to Colorado. The Woodspur Lodge was the perfect hosting site for the 100+ family and friends who came from bayou country.
Damon’s two brothers stood up with him, making it a family affair.
In typical mountain fashion, the clouds were moving quickly through the sky creating some dramatic lighting.
I loved this node from Damon’s brother during the ceremony. I think it was a response to something being said about being a responsible adult.
Cool – the DJ was using MegaSeg mixing software, that I helped develop.

The dancing went on … and on, late into the night. Great fun. The guests were all staying at the lodge, so everyone felt as ease to play hard!
