christine + john :: fort collins wedding

It finally feels like Spring is here! Christine & John were relieved when the sun came out to shine on their super fun day!

Our two missionaries met while training for an assignment in Peru. By all accounts, they were “an item” when they reached the country.  The ceremony was held at Christine’s parish, Immanuel Community Church.  Lincoln Center in Fort Collins played host to a very fun reception.  My favorite missionary story told at the reception was of a Sudan villager’s reaction to Christine’s charm. He offered a dowery of a large herd of sheep and goats for the union of Christine and her son. Predictably, this got a lot of laughs from the reception crowd – but Christine’s father thought maybe he was missing something by blessing a traditional Western wedding. When the laughter died down he quipped, “Hey John! Where’s my sheep and goats!”

jennifer + dustin :: fort collins wedding

Jennifer & Dustin took a break from world traveling to get married at Fort Collins’ Faith Free Evangelical. You’d think with Dustin’s military duties, he’s the traveller of the pair – but Jennifer takes those honors. Between them, they’ve been to every corner of the world and they left their wedding for Winter Honeymoon in New Zealand.

christie + nick :: fort collins wedding

Morning weddings have such a different vibe. Children & the elderly are usually more awake & cooperative. The light hits familiar venues at completely different places. For those reasons I was excited to spend the morning with Christie & Nick at Tapestry House.

This little guy loved all the attention his wedding outfit attracted.

One way to get a group of men to sit at attention – install a video game.

Nick’s in foreground shadow as he sees Christie for the first time. A 300mm lens brings the two in perspective.

Here’s a twist – bride & groom wrote letters to each other, yet had others read them during the ceremony. Lots of laughs, and tears.
